Our space serves artists, organizers, and community members as a place to create, convene, and build together. Supporting creativity through access to space.
The Creative Freedom Fund provides in-kind access to space at The Legacy Building for artists and community members who may not otherwise be able to afford it. Rather than discounting our work quietly, we name and track the value of the space we give — creating a clear story of impact for artists, partners, and supporters who help sustain this model.
In-kind space access is documented as community investment and shared with partners, funders, and supporters.

The Natural Light Studio is designed for photography, video, and creative projects that benefit from bright, adaptable space. With ceiling-height windows that fill the space with bright, natural light, This space is modular and equipped with mounted backdrops, giving you the flexibility to make it your own.
The Natural Light Studio is also perfect for pop-up markets, book launches, and small gatherings. Whether you're here to create, connect, or celebrate, the Natural Light Studio adapts to your vision, providing the perfect atmosphere to bring your ideas to life.

Located at the front of the building, the Gallery offers visibility, foot traffic, and connection to the surrounding neighborhood. Our Gallery Space is a vibrant, adaptable setting perfect for showcasing art, workshops, and bringing people together.
The Gallery features ceiling-height windows that let in tons of natural light, bright open walls for displaying art, and a floor-to-ceiling chalk wall for creative expression. Plus, it’s connected to our Natural Light Studio, offering seamless flow for larger events or multiple setups.

The Creative Studio supports both individual creation and community-led gatherings. It features mounted backdrops, a striking black carbon wall with 3D texture (perfect as a podcast backdrop) a green screen, and our Vibe Magazine Wall. The studio also includes a mounted projector for easy visuals, a Neon "Vibe Check" sign for added flair, and beautiful hardwood floors that provide an ideal foundation for movement-based activities.
This adaptable space is perfect for live music events, community gatherings, filming projects, workshops, dance classes, yoga, and so much more. Built for bands, solo artists, and creatives preparing for performance or collaboration. Our Rehearsal Room is a fully equipped space designed for musicians to bring their best to every practice. Located in the lower level, it comes fully backlined with everything you need—bass and guitar amps, microphones, a drum kit, and keyboards—making it perfect for bands, solo artists, and creatives looking to refine their sound.
The Rehearsal Room is also connected to our arcade and kitchenette area, which includes a full-size refrigerator, sink, and prep space, providing a comfortable, energizing environment for longer sessions. Whether you need a place to rehearse for an upcoming gig or just a creative space to jam, our Rehearsal Room has you covered.

Recovery & Wellness Circle
Every Saturday | 9:00–11:00 AM
Location: The Legacy Building
Cost: Free | Open to All
A weekly, open recovery and wellness gathering centered on healing, support, and connection. Conversations are gently guided around wellness and addiction recovery, including substance and alcohol recovery. Coffee is provided, and all are welcome.
Whether you are in recovery, supporting someone who is, or seeking a grounding space to connect.
Mamas Ignite
Last Monday of Every Month (through April)
5:30–8:30 PM
Location: The Legacy Building
Cost: Free | Open to All
Mamas Ignite is a cozy, creative gathering for mama artists and creatives to connect, recharge, and ignite their creativity in a supportive circle. Each gathering includes music, food, and intentional conversation. Childcare is provided, allowing mamas to fully participate while bringing their children if needed.
This series centers rest, creativity, and community—recognizing caregiving as part of the creative process.

SOUL OF THE SOUTHSIDE
Centering Kinship and Community
Born from the heart of The Legacy Building, Soul of the Southside Juneteenth Festival is an annual celebration of Black liberation, creativity, and community. From immersive art to family-friendly activities, this festival has grown into a cornerstone event for our community, drawing thousands to East Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue in South Minneapolis each year.
